Within the Procurement organization the Unit of Travel is responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and coordinating the organization's global travel program from a procurement and governance perspective. The Head of Travel is leading a team of Generali employees and externals reporting directly to the Group Chief Procurement Officer of Generali Group.
The Interim Global Travel Management Specialist will support the unit by ensuring that travel policies, supplier relationships, booking processes, and cost‐management initiatives are fully aligned with corporate objectives, while providing employees worldwide with safe, efficient, and compliant travel experiences.
Key responsibilities
Travel Program Governance & Strategy
Support the execution of the global travel strategy in alignment with procurement policies and corporate objectives
Oversee adherence to the company's global travel policy and recommend updates based on industry trends and business needs




Supplier & Contract Management
Manage relationships with key travel suppliers (TMCs, airlines, hotels, ground transportation, booking technology providers, credit card providers)
Support or lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier performance reviews for travel-related services
Monitor service-level agreements and escalate issues when needed to ensure service quality and performance
Operational Travel Management
Oversee day-to-day travel operations in collaboration with internal teams and the Travel Management Company
Resolve escalations related to booking processes, traveler issues, or supplier service failures
Provide expert guidance to employees regarding booking tools, procedures and travel policies
Checking market options to confirm that the most competitive rate has been applied
Data, Reporting & Cost Optimization
Analyze travel spend data to identify savings opportunities, inefficiencies and compliance g
