Summary

The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, implements, and supports enterprise software solutions that enable core academic and administrative business functions. This role partners with functional stakeholders, analysts, and technical team members to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable applications, integrations, and data solutions. The position is responsible for leading complex development efforts, troubleshooting production issues, improving system performance, and promoting software engineering best practices throughout the application life cycle. The ideal candidate brings strong full-stack and integration experience, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while contributing to team standards, operational stability, and continuous improvement. Experience as a QA Engineer or in software quality assurance is a plus.

Leads the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, database objects,



and supporting technical components used by institutional departments and end users. Works closely with business stakeholders, project leads, and cross-functional IT teams to analyze requirements, define technical approaches, estimate effort, and deliver solutions that align with operational priorities and compliance expectations. Performs code reviews, refactoring, unit/integration testing, deployment support, and root-cause analysis for incidents and defects; ensures solutions are reliable, secure, documented, and supportable in production. Optimizes existing systems through performance tuning, automation, and process improvement, while helping reduce support backlog and improve service responsiveness for a large portfolio of business-critical applications.
