ph3Assistant Principal – Parma, Ohio /h3 pConstellation Schools is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Principal in Parma, Ohio dedicated to providing a superior education for all students. Leaders eager to create a rigorous and nurturing environment that prioritizes student engagement and achievement are encouraged to apply. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupports the school’s educational program and maximizes student learning experiences in a safe learning environment. /li liArticulates the school’s philosophy and mission and complies with all pertinent Ohio and Federal educational requirements. /li liMaintains a welcoming, safe, clean, orderly, positive and effective learning environment that promotes high academic and behavioral expectations. /li liSupports a framework that involves the entire school community in developing and supporting shared beliefs, values, mission and goals, ensuring continuous progress. /li liEstablishes and maintains effective relationships with staff, parents, ODE, local elected and civic leaders, and the broader community. /li liMaintains positive school communication and seeks assistance from LLC staff to improve performance. /li liImplements Board policies and administrative regulations to provide an atmosphere in which students succeed. /li liAdministers all Federal, State and Board adopted programs, adhering to all eligibility, record‑keeping, reporting and confidentiality requirements. /li liSupports the delivery of all Title and Special Education Services in compliance with applicable law. /li liAssists the School Principal in creating an operating schedule that ensures year‑round building access. /li liParticipates in the interviewing of potential school employees. /li liSupports the School Principal in ensuring success of Community School Sponsor site visits. /li liParticipates in student enrollment processes. /li liAttends all scheduled Board meetings. /li liMaintains the Parent/Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct, handling student discipline fairly and consistently. /li liCommunicates effectively with staff, students, parents/guardians and outside agencies. /li liIdentifies programs and activities that facilitate the professional growth of staff and enhance educational programs. /li liRemains knowledgeable of Charter Schools/Public Schools legal issues.
/li liEnsures accurate and up‑to‑date school website information. /li liAssists in developing the school budget to meet needs. /li liParticipates in grant efforts within the school. /li liEvaluates data points to maximize student learning and evaluates student progress. /li liProvides effective supervision of all building staff in the Principal’s absence. /li liPerforms other duties as identified by the School Principal. /li /ul h3Family, Community Personnel Objectives /h3 ul liPartners with parents/guardians for child academic success. /li liWelcomes parents/guardians and students with enthusiasm. /li liEncourages parent participation in the child’s school experience. /li liProvides prospective student parents/guardians with information and school tours. /li liFosters relationships and encourages volunteerism within the family unit. /li liMaintains communication with community members, participates in community events. /li liWorks with Marketing staff to ensure Constellation brand visibility. /li liAttends meetings and training with students, parents/guardians and staff as required. /li liProvides instructional direction and assistance for curriculum development and classroom material selection. /li liAssists in establishing school committees, student enrichment activities and participates in system‑wide Constellation committees. /li liEvaluates teachers using the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System, coaches them to reach full potential. /li /ul h3Skills, Knowledge Abilities /h3 ul liExcellent verbal and written communication skills. /li liStrong problem‑solving skills and ability to analyze information. /li liInterpersonal skills with confidentiality and openness. /li liAbility to speak clearly, persuade, and conduct effective meetings. /li liPlanning and organizing skills for prioritization and realistic action. /li liQuality control orientation, accuracy, thoroughness. /li liAdaptability to change, manage competing demands. /li liDependability, punctuality,
responsiveness to leadership and feedback. /li /ul h3Education Experience Requirements /h3 ul liMinimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field experience. /li liPreferred Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. /li liActive Principal’s license or willingness to obtain an alternative Principal's license. /li li3–5 years of teaching experience preferred. /li liOTS/OTES credentialed or willing to become OTES credentialed. /li liExperience in Teacher Based Team (TBT) and Building Leadership Team (BLT) processes. /li liExperience leading professional development programming. /li liExperience implementing Ohio Learning Standards. /li liExperience developing and implementing a school budget. /li liMinimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience preferred. /li /ul h3Work Environment /h3 pRegularly works in an office setting; evening or weekend work may be required. /p h3Physical Demands /h3 pRegular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; able to lift 20 lbs; reach, bend, sit and stoop.
