**Job Description Summary**: The Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Advanced Repair and Reconstruction (AR&R;) will work with internal and external customers as a field-based scientific and clinical expert who strategically supports dissemination of medical scientific information. The MSL functions as a regional medical contact between the organization and key external customers to further scientific exchange. This role provides product and field scientific support to Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing, and Managed Markets to communicate with healthcare providers, academic researchers, and organizations by utilizing academic credentials, clinical knowledge, and scientific expertise. The main focus for this role is in abdominal wall surgery, such as hernia repair and breast plastic or reconstructive surgery.
These relationships ensure that key opinion leaders and organizations have access to relevant scientific information, and that insights gathered externally will be communicated to key cross-functional partners
internally. The MSL should have an in-depth understanding of general and/or plastic surgery, wound healing, the surgical setting, disease state awareness, the current/future treatment landscape, and ongoing clinical trials/research to increase BD’s presence in the medical community.
He/she will be responsible for strategically linking the medical and scientific communities with BD’s commercial and clinical platform teams. Become a **maker of possible**with us! **Main responsibilities will include**: - Develop and deliver high-impact scientific presentations to healthcare professionals, clinical investigators, and internal teams.
- Act as a trusted scientific advisor to key opinion leaders (KOLs) and external healthcare professionals, ensuring the dissemination of accurate, up-to-date clinical and product information.
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, sales, regulatory affairs, and R&D;, to provide scientific insights and support strategic initiatives.



Communicate scientific and medical information/insights. Develop scientific material such as slide decks, in collaboration with Medical Affairs Directors and Surgeon Education.
- Collaborate on the creation and review of educational and marketing materials, ensuring scientific integrity and compliance.
- Serve as the primary resource for clinical and scientific information to external HCPs and surgeons; facilitating peer-to-peer scientific initiatives, including advisory boards, investigator meetings, and symposiums.
- Train and advise internal stakeholders, ensuring BD’s teams are well-equipped with scientific knowledge.
- Stay ahead of scientific advancements by attending and debriefing on major congresses, symposia, and research events to capture information relevant to the organization’s scientific platforms and report this information to internal stakeholders during debrief meetings.
- Provide strategic insights to cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, regulatory affairs, and R&D;, ensuring alignment with BD’s medical and commercial goals.
- Assist in facilitating KOL (Key Opinion Leader) involvement in regional, and local educational forums including advisory boards, investigator meetings, educational symposia, and sponsored promotional programs.
- Assist in the identification of investigators and sites for company-sponsored clinical trials.
- Train or advise internal stakeholders. Organize and conduct trainings as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required;
- MD, PhD, PharmD, RN with advanced degree in a relevant scientific or clinical discipline preferred.
