Role Description This full-time, on-site Junior AI Engineer role is based in Milan. The Junior AI Engineer will support the design, development, and evaluation of AI models and tools used to analyze retail data and start-up solutions.

Daily tasks include implementing and testing algorithms, preparing training datasets, running experiments, and documenting results in collaboration with senior engineers and business teams. The role involves building prototypes, integrating AI components into software applications, and contributing to the improvement of recommendation, analytics, and automation capabilities.



The Junior AI Engineer will also collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical AI solutions.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and version control.
- Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and tools for text analysis and conversational interfaces.
- Experience with Python or similar programming languages, and common ML/AI frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, communicate technical concepts clearly, and follow structured development practices.
- Curiosity about the retail industry and interest in applying AI to real-world business challenges; prior exposure to retail data or start-up environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Italian is beneficial for on-site collaboration in Milan.
