At Koala we build the digital infrastructure for decentralised energy systems. We're looking for a senior profile to lead our entire Energy department , coordinating three teams: Energy Lab (research and development), Energy Operations (digital energy consulting and design for energy sharing and crowd energy production) and Energy Sales (technical-commercial support across all product lines).

A role that demands both vision and execution: understanding where decentralised energy is heading, and taking the team there.

? What you'll do

Leadership and coordination

- Lead the three Energy teams, keeping research, delivery and go-to-market aligned
- Grow the team leads and the people across all three areas, with clear and measurable objectives
- Define processes, priorities and resource allocation across projects, client engagements and support activities

Strategy and development

- Build the Energy division roadmap, turning regulatory and market developments into new business lines and services
- Own the regulatory outlook on energy sharing, distributed self-consumption, crowd energy production, flexibility and electricity markets — anticipating their impact on both projects and platform
- Bring research outcomes into the commercial offering and into the product itself, working closely with the product and technology teams

Business and relationships

- Own strategic relationships with industrial partners, institutions, utilities, local authorities and research bodies
- Oversee the commercial pipeline and the technical-economic viability of new initiatives, from feasibility through to operational management
- Contribute to and lead regional, national and European research projects,



including access to public funding

? Who we're looking for
- Degree in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent; management training is a plus
- 6-8 years of experience in the energy sector, a significant part of it leading teams or complex projects
- Strong command of the Italian and European regulatory framework for energy sharing: renewable energy communities, distributed self-consumption, electricity markets, flexibility, etc.
- Experience managing technical-commercial projects and working with B2B clients, public administrations and institutional stakeholders
- The ability to hold strategic vision and hands-on delivery together, across several fronts at once
- Comfort working with product and technology teams — this is where energy expertise becomes software
- Leadership that grows people, not just directs them
- English, including in international project settings
- Strong results orientation and appetite for innovation
- And above all, plenty of cazzimma ("a determined and resolute attitude or behaviour, interpreted favourably as an expression of strength and personality" – Treccani Encyclopaedia, 2014)
