**APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: March 14th, 2025** Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational and structural biology, neuroscience, as well as population and health data science. The Carninci Research Group is seeking a **Technician / Sr. Technician**to join the team**within the Research Centre for Genomics - Functional Genomics Programme, and reporting to Dr. Piero Carninci.

About the lab** The Carninci group strives to develop and broadly use technologies to comprehensively study the non-protein-coding part of the genome, its function and interactome. An overview of the laboratory mission is available at: Carninci Group - Human Technopole. **Key tasks and responsibilities**
- Generating, importing and optimizations of new tools and protocols;
- Generating reliable data for publication in the projects to which s/he is assigned and record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic);
- Providing technical support and supervision to other laboratory members, including introduction and teaching of new laboratory techniques and support on the use of lab equipment to lab members, as well as members from other laboratories;
- Participating in key aspects of general lab management and organization (e.g., managing inventories and stocks of samples, reagents, equipment and materials. **Essential requirements**
- Considerable experience in laboratories involved in the area of main responsibilities,



with particular emphasis on genomics. For a Senior Technician, at least 5 years of proven experience as Laboratory Technician or equivalent positions, including postdoctoral experience in relevant areas.
- Master in Biological Sciences or related field.
- Broad technical understanding of the area of genomics, next generation sequencing, cell culture, knock-down methodologies and other areas of main responsibilities.
- Fluency in English - HT is an international research institute. **Preferential requirements**
- Broad understanding of RNA biology, in particular of lncRNAs and other non-coding RNAs.
- Broad understanding of biochemistry and enzymology.
- Understanding of genome regulation in 3 dimensions.
- Previous experience in preparation of CAGE, full-length cDNA libraries, HiC or related technologies libraries.
- Experience in managing large projects involving preparation and tracking of large datasets.
- Experience in writing scientific literature in English, such as technical protocols and scientific publications. **Required personal skills**
