**JOB SUMMARY** We are seeking an R&D; Technician who will take care of writing the technical documentation, researching valid alternatives to obsolete electronic components. He/She will take care of the management of component codes for project development, management of wiring documents, creation of wiring for the R&D; office, support for testing and verification of devices for the technical office. He/She also will be able to design electronic boards as a part of offline or online instruments developed in R&D; office. The R&D; Technician will be responsible for participating in the research, design and development of test equipment products for the electric power generation, transmission and distribution industry. He/She will support the R&D; office by collaborating with the production department. This role will be based in our Taino office reporting to R&D; technical director. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Search for alternative and obsolete electronic components;
- write technical documentation;
- code creation;
- manage part list of electronic boards;
- relate and talk to external contractors;
- production support;
- measurements on parts of a new project
- boards design
- HW and FW tests on existing or new products
- Design and perform verification for Regulatory compliance (CE, UL EMI/EMC, etc.), Manufacturing (DFM) and Test (DFT).
- Experiment and prototype concepts for evaluation
- Debug and bring-up of new boards
- System integration in team environment
- Troubleshoot test equipment problems
- Specification and development of board test fixtures
- Participate as a team member on development projects and team meetings
- Some amount of maintenance of existing products is required. This can include everything from part obsolescence to new features **QUALIFICATIONS** **EDUCATION**:
Technical, electrical/electronic high school diploma **REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**:
At least 3 years' experience in similar roles/sectors. **PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required)**: - FW programming
- SW programming for test machines




- Knowledge of our products (or similar) **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**: - Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics and capability to modify them or create new schematics;
- use of small soldering irons for electrical/electronic components;
- Knowledge of computer operating systems and MS Office software (Excel).
- Ability to work as part of a team, autonomy, proactiveness.
- Must be able to independently plan and organize one’s own activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
