The candidate will play a critical role in the rapid prototyping of customized laser-written vapor cells (LWVCs) and atomic-photonic chips. The candidate will work closely with our core team including Prototyping Manager and RD Scientist, as well as with PhD students and postdocs of the local AQuTech research group. /p h3Duties and responsibilities /h3 ul liOperate a femtolaser source for laser microstructuring, waveguides writing and welding /li liPerform hands‑on fabrication and integration of all‑glass atomic photonic‑chips /li liModel and simulate optical physics problems for quantum sensing and metrology applications /li liGuide the prototyping team with the design of custom‑designed vapor cells /li liInteract with early customers and researchers to solve atomic physics problems collaboratively /li liWork with the prototyping team to transition/scale testing for performance evaluation /li liContribute to the expansion of our IP portfolio through patent filing /li liContribute to the writing of scientific publications using QSENSATO’s innovative technology /li liContribute to the writing of regional, national, European and international grants /li /ul h3Work experience requirements /h3 ul liDemonstrated experimental expertise in integrated photonics, fiber‑to‑chip alignment, glass technology, and/or waveguides/microlenses microfabrication techniques /li liSimulation of physics problems for microfabricated components, including photonic waveguides, microlenses, thermal and magnetic control /li liHands‑on test and data analysis experience in optical physics domains. /li liExperience with miniaturized quantum sensors will be an asset. /li /ul pThe individual must be highly motivated and must thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. /p h3Education requirements /h3 ul liA Master or Ph.D. in microelectronics, physical engineering, photonics or related discipline is required. /li liEnglish (full professional proficiency). Italian and other languages will be an asset. /li /ul h3Technical competences /h3 ul liExperience with simulating and fabricating photonic waveguides and microlenses with high‑level research tools /li liExperience in testing photonic structures in different platforms and optical setups /li liCompetency with simulation, design, data analysis softwares (Zemax, COMSOL, Matlab, Labview, SolidWorks, or similar) /li liExcellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with creative thinking /li liExcellent written and oral communication skills,
