We are looking for a talented attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving payments businesses.
This attorney will be responsible for counseling the Amazon Payments business teams on product and service launches, negotiating complex transactions with financial service partners, and advising on commercial, regulatory, and compliance related initiatives in the payments and financial services space.

Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business.
The role covers a broad spectrum of legal issues, including new program development in regulated areas, product counseling and providing day?to?day advice, strategic contract and partnership negotiations, and resolving issues that arise in commercial relationships.
A successful candidate will have a strong regulatory and transactional background and be hard?working, proactive, entrepreneurial and able to apply sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations.
Prior experience in payments, credit / lending, or financial services is a plus.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise the business on regulatory and compliance mattersStructure, draft and negotiate commercial agreements related to domestic and international payment and credit / lending productsProvide ongoing legal counseling on a wide range of mattersBasic Qualifications2+ years of legal experienceJurisdictions in or membership in one state bar or equivalentKnowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy,



and bias preventionExperience in private practice or in?house experience at a technology company or equivalentExperience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience of a mix of corporate law firm and in?house workExperience in web services / cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalentCompensation & BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is 131,************,****** USD annually.
Your Amazon package will include sign?on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
