Based in Guidonia Montecelio (RM), Aurora focuses on applied research and innovation in science and engineering fields. /p h3Research Scientist – Quantum Electronics /h3 pCareer path toward bSenior Research Scientist, Lab Director, RD Programme Manager /b /p h3Salary Range /h3 p EUR gross/year /p h3Job Description /h3 pAurora SRL is seeking a Research Scientist specialising in Quantum Electronics to join our growing RD team. You will conduct cutting‑edge research in quantum optics, photonics and advanced electronic systems, contributing to both fundamental research and applied technology development. /p pThis position offers the opportunity to work at the frontier of quantum technologies within a dynamic research environment. You will design and execute experiments, publish scientific results and contribute to the development of next‑generation quantum sensing and communication systems. /p pWe are looking for someone with a strong physics or engineering background who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of quantum technology from laboratory research to real‑world applications. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign, set up and conduct experiments in quantum optics, photonics or quantum electronic devices /li liDevelop and characterise quantum sensors, single‑photon detectors or quantum communication components /li liPerform theoretical modelling and numerical simulations to support experimental activities /li liAnalyse experimental data using statistical methods and scientific computing tools /li liPrepare scientific publications, technical reports and patent applications /li liContribute to research proposals for national and European funding programmes (Horizon Europe, ERC, PNRR) /li liCollaborate with academic partners,



research centres and industrial stakeholders /li liPresent results at international conferences and workshops /li liMaintain laboratory equipment, optical setups and measurement instrumentation /li liMentor junior researchers and PhD students /li /ul h3Must‑have Requirements /h3 ul liPhD or equivalent research experience in Physics, Quantum Electronics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering or related field /li liDemonstrated expertise in at least one area: quantum optics, quantum sensing, photonics, laser physics or semiconductor quantum devices /li liStrong experimental skills: optical alignment, laser systems, cryogenic setups, vacuum systems or cleanroom fabrication /li liProficiency in scientific programming: Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW or equivalent /li liTrack record of peer‑reviewed publications in relevant journals /li liExcellent English (C1+); Italian is a strong plus /li liAbility to work independently and manage complex experimental workflows /li /ul h3Nice‑to‑have Requirements /h3 ul liExperience with quantum key distribution (QKD) or quantum random number generation /li liKnowledge of integrated photonics or silicon photonics fabrication /li liFamiliarity with FPGA programming for data acquisition and instrument control /li liExperience with cryogenic systems or superconducting detectors (SNSPDs, TES) /li liBackground in quantum computing hardware (trapped ions, superconducting qubits, photonic qubits) /li liExperience with funded research projects (EU, ESA, ASI, INFN) /li liExisting network within the European quantum technology community /li /ul h3Personal Requirements /h3 ul liDeep intellectual curiosity and passion for fundamental and applied research /li liRigorous scientific methodology combined with creative problem‑solving /li liExcellent team player who thrives in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments /li liStrong communication skills for both scientific and non‑technical audiences /li liResilience and persistence in the face of experimental challenges /li liCommitment to scientific integrity and reproducibility /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
