For this role, compensation starts from 38.900,00 EUR gross, depending on experience and skills. It sits within a broader package that reflects the overall value of the role

Why you should join:

The R&D; Product Development Engineer (Tooling) will be part of a team responsible for developing industrial termination machines for the appliance industry.

These machines are used for the high-volume production of wire harnesses, integrating wires, connectors, and terminals in automated manufacturing processes.

Your main tasks:

- Lead machine development projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept definition to design, validation, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
- Act as the technical lead for assigned projects, coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Drive innovation by identifying new technologies and industry trends to enhance product competitiveness.
- Develop machines that meet customer and market requirements for performance, quality, cost, reliability, and lead time.
- Collaborate with global suppliers and development partners, including review and approval of supplier designs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including CE requirements.
- Lead problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and risk assessment activities, including FMEA, to ensure robust and reliable machine designs.
- Give on-site support to machine testing, troubleshooting, installation, startup, and commissioning.




- Prepare and maintain technical specifications, design documentation, and detailed mechanical drawings.
- Review designs to ensure technical feasibility, manufacturability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Your ideal background:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- More than 3 years of experience in product development and engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial automation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and mechatronic design.
- Demonstrated experience in performing risk assessments and leading Design and Process FMEA activities to ensure robust, safe, and reliable machine designs in compliance with applicable standards.
- Proficiency with major CAD platforms, such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor .
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

- Knowledge of automation software platforms (e.G., Beckhoff, Delphi) and PLC programming environments (e.G., Siemens S7, TIA Portal) as well as high level object oriented languages (C, C#, Java)




- Understanding of electric and pneumatic diagrams
- Knowledge of OT (Operational technology) application including MES
- Good understanding of automation system design.
- Experience with connector or terminal tooling.
