Leonardo is one of the strategic industrial partners of the GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme), together with the British BAE Systems and the Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, aimed at developing and implementing a new generation aerial system, defined as a “system of systems”.

Used for multi-domain operations in the defense sector, the system will be characterized by a “core platform” connected with other peripheral “adjuncts” systems, both manned and unmanned.

The program, one of the most challenging and futuristic for the aerospace and defense industry, will drive the technological revolution that will characterize the sector over the next fifty years.

A challenge aimed at strengthening the technological and industrial sovereignty of the countries involved, because it aims to identify and make available those innovative, so-called enabling technologies, that will ensure the generational leap,



generating positive returns and economic and social progress for the entire country system, benefiting new generations.

Within the Cyber & Security Solutions Area, we are looking for a Database Administrator for our offices in Genoa, Rome, Naples.

The person will be responsible for the following activities:

- Design, planning, and implementation of database infrastructure and systems on a Microsoft Azure public Cloud model and on-premise model via VMWare.

- Ensure the regular operation of database systems, managing monitoring events, incidents, and requests.

- Management of database platform updates with upgrade and patching processes, applying necessary security measures.

- Configuration and preparation of environments and databases by applying replication and partitioning systems to ensure High Availability, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery.

- Analyze performance issues, proposing solutions, and collaborating in their implementation.

- Support and collaborate with application and development teams in analyzing errors and problems regarding normal database usage.





- Collaborate with backup teams to ensure proper execution of database backups, according to agreed policies.

- Collaboration in Cloud and Hybrid Cloud projects in the industrial, defense, and public administration markets.

Education:

- Degree in Engineering or STEM disciplines or equivalent experience.

Seniority:

- Expert 3-5 years of experience.

- At least 3 years of practical experience in IT projects and in Cloud and/or On-Premise environments with excellent knowledge of technologies and attention to security aspects.

Technical knowledge and skills:

- Advanced knowledge of major database platforms, both in IaaS and PaaS deployment solutions, especially:

- PostgreSQL

- MongoDB

- SQL Server

- Oracle

- Experience with architectures in HA, BC, and/or DR scenarios

- Knowledge of Storage and Backup solutions

Behavioral skills:

- Good aptitude for teamwork

- Effective communication skills

- Be a reliable and flexible team player

- Have a creative mindset and the ability to effectively analyze problems

Language skills:

- Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written (B2)

Other (e.g., availability for travel, specific certifications…):

- Certifications related to the indicated database technologies
