Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Contributions include applying intermediate level of subject matter expertise to solve common technical problems. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and recommendations for appropriate action.
Works independently within an established framework and with moderate supervision.Responsibilities: Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable,
cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.Typically 2-4 years experience.Experience designing and developing backend or distributed software systems.Fluent in English and Italian.Technical SkillsMandatoryStrong knowledge of SW development languages for backend .Solid experience with Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals.Good understanding of IP networking, including the major Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols.Experience with software development best practices, version control systems (Git), and issue-tracking platforms.Experience with software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting methodologies.Familiarity with Linux kernel networking concepts and the network stack.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments.Exposure to telecommunications protocols and network function architectures.Knowledge of IP advanced routing, including protocols such as BGP and OSPF.Understanding of microservices and distributed systems design principles.What We Can Offer You:Health & WellbeingWe strive to provide our team members and their loved ones with a comprehensive suite of benefits that supports their physical, financial and emotional wellbeing.Personal & Professional DevelopmentWe also invest in your career because the better you are, the better we all are.
