ph3Job Overview /h3 pThe Commissioning Manager is tasked with developing departmental plans, including business, production, and organizational priorities. The role requires multi‑disciplinary expertise and an understanding of the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. The Commissioning Manager leads multiple related teams, sets organizational priorities, and allocates the appropriate resources. They must identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. The Commissioning Manager directly impacts business results by supporting function‑specific projects, products, services, and technologies and developing policies and plans. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liManage multiple related teams, set organizational priorities, and allocate resources /li liProvide leadership to managers and professional staff /li liAccountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams /li liDevelop departmental plans, including business, production, and/or organizational priorities /li liDecision is guided by resource availability and functional objectives /li liAssign staffing for the departmental positions on projects and proposals /li liResponsible for administrative and technical management of the commissioning Department /li liIdentify performance gaps and correct including systems, equipment, and people resources /li liProvide leadership and instruction to their employees /li liEnsure work is being coordinated between the other disciplines, offices, fabrication, and construction to meet project requirements /li liManage the technical execution to support the business considerations established for the project /li liResponsible for the administration and technical management of the department /li liExecute annual appraisals of the employees /li liExecute performance appraisals of agency personnel /li liCollect/identify training requests/needs, review for justification,



and facilitate implementation /li liProvide regular performance feedback to the employees in the department /li liImplement communication plan /li liSupport recruitment activities for the department /li liAssure good team spirit in the department /li liIdentify high potentials and support the effort of providing them with suitable career opportunities /li liPropose salary increases upon request of company management /li liSupport the execution plan preparation of every project /li liAssign resources to projects and proposals /li liStay up-to-date with the status of all projects through the Lead Engineer /li liEnsure execution of PEA reviews and IDRs on projects /li liResolve findings and corrective actions as required /li liLead improvement initiatives within the department /li liSupport proposals as required /li liPrepare or approve man-hours estimates /li liEnsure the MPS system is kept up to date /li liEstablish a budget and salary plan for the department /li liIdentify and recruit staff for departmental positions /li liMaintain staffing levels appropriate to the projected workload /li liProvide leadership and training for the professional development of staff /li liResponsible for the integrity of the work produced /li liOwn and lead the implementation, enforcement,



and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures /li liEnsure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures /li liEnsure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams /li /ul h3Reporting Structure /h3 ul liFunctional: VP/Director Engineering /li liLiaise with: Project Managers / Project Director, Project Controls, Engineering department Managers, Construction/Fabrication team, Quality, HSSE, and Client designated representatives as required /li liSupervises: All discipline Managers, Engineers, Designers, and support personnel within the department /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Engineering /li li20+ years of experience and proven leadership experience /li liRequires multi-disciplinary expertise within own discipline and basic knowledge of other functions /li liApplies understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies /li liSignificant management experience /li liMust have effective communication skills, able to establish confident relationships with discipline managers, technical engineers, and non-engineers. Presentation skills are required /li liMust have excellent computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other engineering software programs /li liKeen on improving the effectiveness of the work /li liMust have excellent organizational skills and be adaptable to the needs of various discipline groups /li liMust have the ability to assess and communicate project requirements and expectations in a clearly defined, positive, and productive manner /li liShow flexibility and ensure proper hand‑over with regards to: ul liThe reassignment to other departments/construction sites/fabrication yards /li liThe managing/learning of current working methods and software applications /li liThe reassignment to other McDermott offices /li /ul /li liProficiency in English, Multi‑Language skills a plus /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
