internship Institute for Alpine Environment BMS is an ongoing survey of biodiversity that serves as basic research, but it is also intended to provide a scientific base for political decisions concerning spatial planning, agriculture, and nature conservation. BMS surveys animal and plant groups that react sensitively to climate and/or land-use changes, at habitat and landscape level. These surveys occur in 320 sites distributed over the entire province of South Tyrol (7400 km2), including a large share of the diversity of habitats in the region. **Tasks**: - Support in bird surveys by means of point count.
- Support in bird surveys by means of automated recordings (e.g., devices installation and collection, data management and manipulation ).
- Support in digitalization and management of ornithological field data.
- Support in vocal detection and data implementation of registered bird data.
- First analyses of assessed ornithological data and eco/bioacoustics data. **Requirements**: - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology or Environmental Sciences (or similar, obtained not more than one year ago).
- Willingness and availability to work in alpine areas.
- Good knowledge of the bird fauna of South Tyrol and the Alps.
