- Lead multiple project teams of software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners through design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration
- Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners
- Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards
- Provide feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk
- Provide domain-specific expertise and software systems leadership to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities
- Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into software systems design projects
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Typically 6–10 years of experience
- Experience designing and developing backend or distributed software systems
- Fluent in English and Italian
- Strong knowledge of software development languages for backend




- Solid experience with Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals
- Good understanding of IP networking, including major Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols
- Experience with software development best practices, Git, and issue-tracking platforms
- Experience with software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: experience with 4G/LTE and 5G Core Networks
- Preferred: familiarity with Linux kernel networking concepts and the network stack
- Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments
- Preferred: exposure to telecommunications protocols and network function architectures
- Preferred: knowledge of advanced IP routing, including BGP and OSPF
- Preferred: understanding of microservices and distributed systems design principles
