Department/Location: Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish / Florence. AZ

Primary Function: Under the direction of the Pastor, is responsible for assisting in the management of the Youth Ministry program for a Parish. The employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this Ministerial Position:
- Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the Diocese by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The teacher may not espouse, in word or deed, any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.




- Give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example.
- Evangelization & Program Leadership
- Cultivate a vibrant environment where teens encounter Jesus Christ throughout the Sacraments, authentic community, solid catechesis, and missionary discipleship.
- Rooted in the model and spirituality of Life Teen International, the Youth Minister will serve as a joyful witness of the Gospel, accompanying teens (grades 0-12) as they grow in faith and become active members of the Church.
- Plan and implement weekly Sunday Life Nights, annual retreats, service projects, and social events
- Coordinate youth participation in Sunday Mass
- Provide engaging catechesis faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Create a clear pathway of discipleship for teens from freshman through senior year
