We are looking for a
Senior Backend Engineer Freelance.

Key Responsibilities





You will be responsible for developing and managing the backend of a platform in production: a set of Kafka-based microservices, built using TypeScript/NestJS and supported by MongoDB. This is not simply a generic CRUD system: the sector in question is healthcare, which is subject to regulations; therefore, data accuracy, verifiability and modelling are just as important as processing speed. Experience with HL7 FHIR is an advantage, but it is a skill you can acquire on the job.

What You'll Do
- Design and ship NestJS services across a monorepo of microservices, respecting service boundaries, ACL (Anti-Corruption Layer) services, and the BFF pattern
- Own Kafka integration end to end: producers/consumers, DLT + retry topics, CDC, manual-commit semantics, naming conventions, and the in-house kafkaClient
- Model and query clinical data in MongoDB, including aggregation-pipeline views with lookup joins
- Implement item-level authorization within an ABAC (+
