The Commodity buyer contributes to procurement strategy for his/her product and execute order placement and agreements with suppliers supporting business KPIs.

The Commodity Buyer is responsible for:
- Contributing to develop and execute long term strategies for the assigned commodity, ensuring best performance for procurement KPI
- Integrating commodity strategies into product leadership, sales, engineering, and manufacturing objectives.
- New Product Development, driving supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management with support of engineering,



sales, product leadership and other procurement team in accordance with the business strategy
- Partnering and being a point of reference for Product Leadership, Sales and Engineering for product strategy of the assigned commodity
- Developing negotiation strategies and leading negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives of supply chain for Single PO as well as Strategic Partnership
- Negotiating and issuing purchase orders with suppliers achieving lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
- Developing Procurement initiatives for cost out program, deflation, cycle reduction, BVC Procurement and cash flow improvement (e.g. rebate, payment terms)
- Leveraging S&OP; data to match and optimize supplier capacity with business goals
