The Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the IMF Southeast Europe Regional Technical Assistance Center (SEETAC) has an opening for a Regional Revenue Administration Advisor based in Rome, Italy.
The advisor will support the implementation of the IMF’s regional capacity development (CD) program in revenue administration, developed in close collaboration with FAD, SEETAC management, and SEETAC member countries Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. The advisor will deliver CD to SEETAC member countries, advancing reforms aimed at strengthening revenue mobilization, improving compliance, and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of revenue administrations.
The initial appointment is for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension for up to three years, subject to performance, budget availability, and business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with revenue administrations and ministries of finance in SEETAC member countries to assess CD needs and ensure effective delivery of support.
• Develop, manage, and implement country-specific and regional CD work programs aligned with SEETAC priorities and country reform agendas, ensuring coherence with FAD’s broader revenue administration initiatives.
• Lead the design and delivery of technical assistance on core areas of tax administration, including compliance risk management (CRM), digital transformation, organizational reform, and strengthening of core tax administration functions.
• Provide direct CD support to member countries, while also supporting and contributing to FAD-led initiatives and analytical work programs in the region, including regional notes on selected topics.
