/ph3About The Role /h3pAn exciting opportunity has arisen in our EMEA Finance team for an Accountant based in Italy.
Working in a department of approximately 70 supporting the EMEA region of FTI Consulting, the role reports into the EMEA Corporate Financial Controller.
The individual will be responsible for internal US GAAP reporting to a US listed parent and external statutory GAAP reporting across multiple EMEA countries, plus associated compliance requirements and balance sheet reconciliations.
The individual will be responsible for key elements of the EMEA financial statements covering payroll reporting, intercompany loan accounting, bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and VAT reporting.
A key requirement of the role is timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations under a SOX environment.
The scope of work is primarily to support the Italian operations however there is scope to work on other countries.
The individual needs to coordinate the activities of the external firms ensuring local compliance.
Additionally, there is extensive work in statutory audits across the EMEA region (multiple local GAAPs), where the individual will be responsible for the management of the audit process of a legal entity, or entities, to a point of approval by the EMEA Financial Controller.
/ph3What You'll Do /h3ulliMonthly accounting close: Prepare and post journal entries including payroll reports from external payroll agencies, prepaid expenses, expense accruals /liliPrepare and post journal entries related to lease capitalisation in line with relevant accounting standards /liliReview transactions to determine if capitalisation into fixed assets is required, prepare journals and entries into the fixed asset register, initiate depreciation journals on a monthly basis,
review the fixed assets register regularly to determine if disposals are required, liaise with stakeholders (Real Estate, ITG accountant) to ensure that fixed assets positions are correct /liliPrepare bank reconciliations and post general ledger adjustments /liliPost quarterly tax journals and coordinate with EMEA tax team /liliManage intercompany loan schedules and record monthly interest accruals /liliPerform inter-company reconciliations for multiple EMEA entities /liliPreparation of general ledger account reconciliations in line with SOX requirements, including monthly submission into the FTI Blackline environment /liliAssist with the review and approval of journals prepared by accountants in the corporate accounting team /liliAssist EMEA Finance team in the enhancement of month-end processes including month-end accounting and ensuring compliance with US GAAPLiaise with external firms and ensure timeliness and completeness in the information communicated /liliStrict adherence with the SOX compliance process (handle SOX queries, SOX self?assessment) /liliStatutory audit process: Assist with preparation and finalisation of annual statutory accounts for multiple EMEA entities /liliDirect liaison with external auditors and management of the audit deliverables /liliDirect liaison with internal audit team for US GAAP testing and group audit requirements /liliOther compliance: Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, annual VAT returns (for large companies) and EC Sales for multiple EMEA entities coordinating with outsourced accountants/tax advisors /liliCoordinate with outsourced accountants/tax advisors to deliver other local compliance requirements /liliOther duties and ad hoc support as directed by the EMEA Financial Controller /li /ulh3How You'll Grow /h3pWe are committed to investing and supporting you in your professional development and we have developed a range of programs focused on fostering leadership, growth and development opportunities.
