We are currently seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Piove di Sacco (PD), Italy!
The Product Quality Engineer acts as the vital link between field performance and product evolution. The role leverages real-world data, lessons learned, customer feedback, warranty information, and reliability analysis to improve product quality, manufacturing performance, and future product designs. The position leads structured problem-solving activities, drives robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and ensures corrective actions are effectively implemented to improve customer satisfaction and product reliability.
What kind of work will you be doing?
- Analyze field, warranty, and customer quality data to identify performance trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead and facilitate 8D investigations for customer complaints, field failures, warranty claims, and recurring quality issues.
- Drive robust Root Cause Analysis utilizing 5 Why, Fishbone, Is/Is Not, Fault Tree Analysis, Kepner-Tregoe, and other structured methodologies.
- Coordinate containment, correction, corrective action, and preventive action activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Service.
- Validate root causes through testing, inspection, statistical analysis, and engineering evidence.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure sustainable implementation.
- Interface with factories to drive manufacturing improvements and deployment of lessons learned.
- Provide quality and reliability inputs into DVT, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and product development activities.
- Define and lead Product Quality Plans including EOL testing and validation requirements.
- Monitor prototype builds, participate in approval processes, and report results.
- Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering and Procurement to improve supplier performance and reliability.
- Support development of quality processes, inspection plans, and Critical-to-Quality controls.
- Collect, analyze, and report quality, reliability, warranty, and performance metrics.
- Lead reliability and field quality reviews and deploy lessons learned across the organization.
- Support End-to-End quality improvement projects.
What will make you successful?
- Advanced knowledge of 8D Problem Solving and CAPA methodologies.
- Strong Root Cause Analysis skills using 5 Why, Fishbone, Is/Is Not, Fault Tree Analysis, and evidence-based investigation techniques.
- Experience leading cross-functional investigations involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Service teams.
- Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving capability.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and process capability tools.
- Experience using warranty, reliability, and field performance data to drive improvements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
- Good English language skills.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, thermal management, HVAC, or related technologies preferred.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering, or related functions.
- 3+ years of experience leading RCA, 8D investigations, and corrective action activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of quality, reliability, manufacturing, or product engineering experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, ASQ CQE, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with customer complaints, warranty analysis, and field reliability improvement programs.
- Experience within HVAC, thermal management, refrigeration,
electromechanical equipment, or related industries.
Travel: 10-20%

The anticipated salary range for this role in Piove di Sacco (PD), Italy is between 31.000€ to 38.000€ gross per year (based on a full-time working week). Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation and benefits. Where applicable, a comprehensive overview of the full benefits package and any additional compensation will be provided during the recruitment process in accordance with local legal requirements. Compensation is determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including skills, experience, and job responsibilities.
The applicable National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for this role is Metalmeccanico Industria
