With that growth comes a responsibility to ensure every employee concern is handled fairly, thoroughly, and with integrity.We're looking for a Senior Workplace Investigations Manager to lead complex employee relations and workplace investigations across our Australian Operations network.
This is a brand new role for Australia, giving you the opportunity to build the function from the ground up, establish best practice frameworks, and define how workplace investigations are conducted across the country.You will be the primary investigator for Australia, taking ownership of highly sensitive and ambiguous cases that carry significant business, legal, and reputational implications.You'll work independently from intake to closure, conducting interviews, analysing evidence, producing comprehensive reports, and recommending outcomes.
You'll also partner closely with global ER peers, field PXT partners, Legal, and senior leadership to ensure investigations are intentional, thorough, and aligned with both company policy and Australian employment law.This isn't just about resolving individual cases.
You'll use your casework to identify systemic trends, drive preventive solutions, and contribute to policy improvements that strengthen the employee experience at scale.Key job responsibilitiesOwn and lead complex workplace investigations end-to-end: intake,



interviews (complainant, witness, subject), evidence analysis, report writing, and recommended actionsBuild and establish the workplace investigations function for Australia, setting the standard for how investigations are managed across the networkNavigate highly sensitive matters with discretion, balancing urgency with thoroughness across multiple concurrent casesIdentify patterns and trends in case data to develop proactive solutions and drive continuous improvement across the networkPartner with HR, Legal, and senior leaders to manage escalations, influence outcomes, and build trust through credible, evidence-based recommendationsEnsure investigations comply with company policy and Australian employment law while maintaining strict confidentialityDrive best practice investigation processes and contribute to frameworks that elevate investigation quality across the regionProvide occasional support to investigations in other APAC countries as neededBasic Qualifications7+ years human resource generalist experience or HR investigations specialist experienceExperience in conducting investigative fieldwork, including complainant, witness, and subject employee interviews, investigative data analysis,



and production of investigative documentationExperience supporting hourly employee client groupsExperience in call center, distribution center, or manufacturing environmentsUnderstanding of Australian employment law frameworkPreferred QualificationsAbility to provide leadership, work collaboratively on teams, and consult effectively and independently with all levels and functional areas of an organization.Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve resultsAbility to apply high judgment and consider the context and totality of the employee experienceAcknowledgement of country:In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
