We are seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex C++ software that powers Garmin’s high-quality products to our customers.
What you’ll do:
- Develop complex software in C++.
- Collaborate effectively with other Garmin associates through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
- Perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems offering comments, suggestions for alternative solutions, process improvements, and estimating level of effort.
- Continuously evaluate and improve architecture and performance to meet evolving business needs.
- Deliver high-quality software solutions through test-driven development (TDD) practices, implementing automated testing strategies to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals.
- Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion.
- Participate in product and/or application definition activities including feature analysis and system trade-offs.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Strong C++ programming and solid knowledge of latest C++ standards (C++14 and above).
- Experience architecting complex solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently on complex technical challenges.
- Thorough understanding of computing using complex data structures, complex algorithms, memory management, multi-threading, design patterns and standard libraries.
- Experience working with C++ IDEs, GIT for version control and CI/CD processes (e.g. Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Ansible).
- Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in English.
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and ability to work well with others across several locations worldwide in a highly collaborative environment.
- Experience with agile SDLC methodologies and tools like Azure Dev Ops/JIRA/Confluence.
Premio points if you have:
- Experience in leading technical teams.
- Knowledge of Android and/or iOS frameworks.
- Experience with C++ cross-compilation on different architectures.
- Basic understanding of GIS concepts and spatial databases.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and Service-oriented architectures.
- Additional experience developing software in other languages such as Java, C#.
- Familiarity with marine environment technology, navigation and devices.
- Proven experience in working with customer-facing software solutions.
Pay Range: €40.000 – €56.000
