Role Description The Sommelier Maitre role is a full-time remote position responsible for overseeing wine-related guest experiences and service standards. Day-to-day tasks include curating wine selections, advising guests on pairings, and supporting the development of wine lists that reflect the Barolo region and the restaurant concepts.

The Sommelier

Maitre collaborates with the food & beverage team to align menus with wine offerings, supports remote training sessions for staff on wine service and guest interaction, and contributes to sales initiatives related to wine and hospitality packages. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation of wine inventories,



providing detailed product information, and using digital tools to communicate with on-site teams to ensure consistent, high-quality service.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for clear, professional interaction with guests and team members.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to deliver attentive, personalized, and solution-oriented guest experiences.
- Candidates should possess Food & Beverage skills, including solid wine knowledge, pairing principles, and restaurant service standards.
- Candidates should possess Training skills to support staff development, remote coaching, and knowledge sharing on wine and service.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills to promote wine selections, tasting experiences, and hospitality packages in a consultative manner.
- Professional sommelier certification or equivalent practical experience in wine service is highly beneficial.
- Experience in fine dining, boutique hotels, or high-end hospitality environments is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, using digital tools to coordinate with on-site teams and manage documentation.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills, especially Italian, are an advantage.
