Professional Summary:
- The Senior Manager Regional IT Shared Service Center North America (Sr Mgr IT SSC NA) is a key leadership role within the globally operating Information Technology group.
This role provides oversight of the regional IT Shared Service Center (SSC) supporting Client’s European sites in the Italy, UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and France, as well as field sales staff for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
- The purpose of the regional IT SSC is the delivery of all IT services that are relevant for the European based business operations, including regional General Management, Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing. Those services include end user support, digital workplace, enterprise applications, data center & cloud, cybersecurity and IT compliance.
- The Senior Manager, IT SSC Europe also has a bi-directional liaison to IT-domain-specific corporate functions (Centers of Excellence) such as the Global Project Management Office, the IT Services Delivery, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications and Data Center & Cloud.
The main areas of responsibility of the Senior Manager, IT SSC Europe include:
- Business Relationship Management
- Operational Excellence (Run-business support, service delivery, continuous improvement and reporting)
- Staff Management (internal and external)
- IT Financial Management (FinOps, budgeting)
- Liaison to other IT functions
- Project-planning and -execution

1. Business Partner IT for European based business stakeholders
- Collaborate with management and local stakeholders on various planning activities (including IT investments, project prioritization, solution discussions, IT service provisioning).
- Facilitate communication between IT CoE management and regional business management
- Partner with business peers daily to build and maintain relationships
- Participate in regular management meetings
2. Operational Excellence
- Provide first line of contact for regional user community (key- and end users) for standard IT service requests
- Incident management (including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, short- and long-term fixes)
- Conduct directly and oversee 3rd party system maintenance of a local, heterogeneous production environment (e.g. patches, tuning, backup)
- Establish and conduct ongoing system monitoring (health checks, availability- and performance reporting)
- Identify, recommend, pilot and implement innovative solutions as part of continuous improvement (incl. synergies with other units)
- Establish regular communication and reporting about IT performance to business- and IT
management
- Represent Europe in planning and execution of Client’s world-wide Cybersecurity Program - Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with IT governance
(architecture, operations) principles , security policies and procedures
- Oversee the technical and organizational change management practice (CAB)
- Conduct periodic reviews of information systems and processes to ensure compliance with established policies and best practices (incl. pen tests)
- Participate in regional and global Leadership meetings and workshops
- Systems in scope include regionally utilized cloud tenants, on prem data center service, technical applications, commonly used applications (back office, intranets) and business-domain specific enterprise applications (including ERP, MES, PLM, CRM, BI).
- Enable and facilitate continuous improvement mindset and operate based on lean principles
- Establish and maintain key IT operational performance indicators and benchmarks (to be shared on Executive level)
- Utilize common IT operating frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT and DevOps - Working knowledge in enterprise applications, especially JD Edwards (some hands on work required)
3. Local Project- and Change Management
- Engage in regular project-, resource- and budget planning activities (global, regional and local)
- Stay updated on local, regional and corporate IT roadmaps and provide inputs regarding impact to North America-based operations
- Deploy corporate standards and localized solutions and enable efficient support models
- Support user enablement based on modern education and ongoing training practices
- With support from Corporate PMO function provide regular updates on relevant projects
- Strong liaison and rapport with leadership and senior staff of global Centers of Excellence
4. Staff Management
- Leading technical teams (internal and external staff) that continually implement, innovate and evolve Client’s ecosystem and platforms
- Develop high performing IT teams, capabilities and strong relationship with business stakeholders
- In collaboration with the VP IT and other leaders, identify skills requirements and develop respective implementation plan (reskill/training, external hire, long term, short term engagements)
- Establish capacity planning
5. Vendor Management
- Engage and manage local vendors (incl. IT support, soft- and hardware and other IT-related services)
- Enable performance- and contract management in conjunction with corporate IT Management
- Contribute in global vendor selection-, planning- and execution processes as needed
6. IT Finance Management
- Participate in various budget-planning activities (business demands like expansions and improvements, IT matters like system maintenance and enhancements, security hardening, as well as
project-driven management, personnel cost planning)
- Provide regular spending updates
- Ensure proper use of funds
- Support business case provisioning as needed (e.g. part of Solution Architecture Council or business investment requests).
1. Travel to other Client locations as agreed with the VP IT and local senior business managers. Note that while there could be exceptions, travel expenses are typically pre-budgeted.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or relevant experience with industry certifications
- Minimum 8+ years experience in a managerial role (departmental or project management)
- Should have 10+ years of working knowledge of commonly used technologies of a full stack (enterprise applications. infrastructure, technical applications, data bases, and digital workplace) Client uses Microsoft (incl. M365, Azure, on-prem servers and databases), JD Edwards, various SaaS solutions, intranet, CISCO, VMWare, Dell amongst others)
- Experience in the industrial manufacturing industry or a comparable industry
- Strong stakeholder management, relationship building and consultative experience desired
- Should have exceptional communication skills and ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (including senior-level decision makers)
- High level of customer orientation
- IT Financial Management principles (budgeting, cost management, financial reporting, FinOps, IT asset management)
- IT human resource management and employee development
- Project- and change management (planning, execution, continuous improvements)
- Experience to manage 3rd party vendors, especially managed services (contracts, task assignments, performance reviews)
- Experience with contract- and vendor management in a midsize company environment
- Experience working with offshore resources
- Should be able to work independently yet be a great team player in a flexible and fast paced business environment.
Desired Skills:
- Completed or in progress Certification in IT Service Management (e.g. ITIL, COBIT, IT Management Institute)
- Strong understanding of IT operations, applications and infrastructure
- Understanding of soft- and hardware life cycle and system implementation methodologies.
- At least foundational experience with one or multiple major IAAS, PAAS solution provider (Client uses multi-cloud environments with focus on MS Azure and OCI)
