Reporting to the HR Manager Italy, the HR Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support to the Italian business, with a strong focus on payroll, HR administration, and employee lifecycle processes.
Working closely with employees, managers, Payroll & administration teams, and external providers, the role will ensure the smooth and accurate management of payroll-related activities while also contributing to broader HR processes and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate payroll and HR administration activities for the Italian entity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with local legislation.
- Act as a key point of contact for employees and managers on payroll, contracts, benefits, leave, absences and other HR administration matters.
- Coordinate with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure the correct processing of monthly payroll.
- Prepare and validate payroll-related information, including employee data, variable compensation, absences, bonuses and other payroll inputs.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
- Support the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contract management, changes in employment conditions and offboarding.
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers, addressing HR-related queries and ensuring a high-quality employee experience.
- Support compliance with Italian labour law, company policies and HR procedures.
- Coordinate and support key HR processes such as performance reviews, compensation reviews, training and employee development.
- Support recruitment and onboarding activities when required.
- Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, HR and other stakeholders to ensure effective HR service delivery.
- Support the implementation and adoption of HRIS, payroll systems and other HR tools.
- Contribute to HR projects, process improvements and organizational initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in HR, HR Administration and/or Payroll, ideally in an international environment.
- Solid knowledge of Italian payroll processes and HR administration.
- Good knowledge of Italian labour law and employment regulations.
- Previous experience working with payroll providers or managing payroll processes is highly valued.
- Experience with employee lifecycle management and HR administration.
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems and HR tools.
- Previous exposure to recruitment, employee relations and other generalist HR activities.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
