About the Role In this role you will implement and manage appropriate swimming and water safety programs for students, duties include:

- Providing specialist educational leadership in swimming and water safety education to support consistent and high-quality program delivery and ensure curriculum alignment and quality assessment practice
- Develop and deliver professional learning, mentoring and specialist advice to Teachers in Charge, Relief Teachers in Charge, Swim Instructors and school staff to build capability, promote best practice and support safe, effective program delivery.
- Providing specialist advice to schools, aquatic facilities, and departmental staff on complex operational, curriculum and aquatic education matters, supporting consistent decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the delivery of the Swimming and Water Safety Programs at contracted aquatic facilities, building productive relationships with venue management and contracted Swim Instructors while monitoring program quality to ensure curriculum, safeguarding, operational and departmental standards are consistently achieved.
- Promoting an embed a culture of safeguarding, risk management, and continuous improvement by providing specialist advice, supporting compliance with departmental and industry requirements, and fostering safe, inclusive aquatic learning environments.

We are looking for

Essential

- A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment

Desirable

- Four years or more training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.
- Current Perform Water Rescues (SISCAQU020)



and provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certifications.
