The client is a growing custom metal fabrication shop based in Buffalo, New York, specializing in structural fabrication and wastewater treatment projects.
The company operates with a lean team and is looking to add an experienced Estimator to increase quoting capacity and work closely with the existing senior estimator as project volume continues to grow.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Structural Fabrication Estimator with hands-on experience estimating structural metal fabrication projects.
You will be responsible for accurate takeoffs, bid preparation, cost estimation, submittals, revisions, and pre-construction support. This role is ideal for someone who understands complex fabrication projects, can manage multiple bids with strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed material takeoffs and quantity takeoffs for structural metal fabrication projects
Prepare accurate estimates, bids, and pricing proposals
Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify scope and potential cost impacts
Prepare submittals, revisions, and RFI responses
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and internal team members
Communicate with clients and vendors by phone when necessary
Support pre-construction activities and subcontractor coordination
Manage multiple estimates and project deadlines simultaneously
Work within the company's internal job tracking and AI-powered quoting system
Collaborate remotely with Mark VeRost and the senior estimator to review estimates and maintain pricing accuracy
Identify potential scope gaps, discrepancies, and estimating risks before bids are submitted
