There are two young people aged between 12 and 14 years old. Their interests include a passion for video editing, designing cartoon characters and developing an interest in basketball. Our other young person enjoys walking and swimming, so long as they feel supported in their environment. They also love listening to and watching music videos.
/ppOur ideal candidates must have experience connecting with and supporting with young people who have received a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and an intellectual disability. Exposure to or a willingness to learn communication facilitation strategies (such as key word signs and using visuals) is essential. In addition to this, performing personal care is a requirement of this role. /ppA proactive attitude and a nurturing approach, combined with the ability to maintain boundaries with warmth and consistency are key in helping our young people achieve their potential. /ppThis would be a great opportunity for people studying occupational therapy, speech pathology, education, social work or psychology who want to put theory into practice. /ppThis residential home operates 24/7, therefore successful applicants will need to be able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon, overnight (including sleepover) and weekend shifts. /ppbRole requirements: /b /pulliHold or be actively completing a Diploma level (or higher) qualification in Community Services or a related field bOR /b have relevant work historyband /barewilling to complete a Diploma of Child,
