DEXAI – Artificial Ethics

The role
DEXAI is looking for a Junior Researcher to contribute to our European research projects on AI governance, responsible AI, AI ethics, risk assessment, and the societal impacts of artificial intelligence.
The position is intended for researchers at the beginning of their career, and we also welcome applications from students who have not yet completed their degree.
You will work alongside more experienced researchers on scientific activities, Horizon Europe deliverables, literature and policy analysis, research methodologies, and the development of new project proposals.

What you would do
Depending on your background and interests, you may:
contribute to literature reviews and state-of-the-art analyses;
support qualitative and quantitative research activities;
contribute to scientific and technical deliverables for Horizon Europe projects;
analyse AI governance, ethics, regulatory, and socio-technical questions;
support the design of surveys, case studies,



assessment methodologies, and research protocols;
contribute to papers, reports, and other scientific outputs;
participate in project meetings, workshops, and activities with international research partners.
You will receive guidance from senior researchers, but we expect you to progressively take ownership of well-defined research tasks.

What we need
We do not require previous professional experience. If you have professional experience in Horizon projects, please apply to the Senior position.
We are looking for:
strong research and analytical skills;
very good written English (C1 required);
ability to read scientific literature and synthesise complex material clearly;
interest in AI governance, responsible AI, AI ethics, or related socio-technical questions;
reliability and attention to detail;
willingness to learn and work across different disciplinary perspectives.
