We are hiring: Civil Engineer, Milan (HV/MV Substation Project)

Fractera is a specialist Project Management Consultancy working exclusively on the owner's side of critical infrastructure across EMEA. We are looking for a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of a high voltage substation project in Milan.

The role

You will provide civil and structural engineering expertise across design review and site supervision for a 220/20kV substation development. You will make sure the civil works are designed and built to the required quality, on a compliant permitting basis, and coordinated with the electrical installation.

What you will do
- Perform design peer reviews of civil and structural packages, including foundations, buildings, cable trenches, equipment supports, and drainage
- Supervise civil works on site, including earthworks, concrete works, and structural steel
- Verify compliance with Italian building regulations, NTC structural norms, and local authority requirements in Lombardy




- Support the permitting interface with local authorities and the coordination with the DSO's technical requirements
- Review contractor documentation, inspection and test plans, and quality records
- Report progress and technical findings clearly to the owner's team

What we are looking for
- Degree in civil engineering
- 5+ years on infrastructure or energy projects, with substation or utility experience preferred
- Solid knowledge of Italian regulations, NTC 2018, and local permitting processes
- Experience working with or alongside DSOs is a strong plus
- Fluent Italian and professional English
- Based in or willing to work in the Milan area
