Job Summary The Sales Executive supports the commercial growth of Excelsior Hotel Gallia within the Italian and European markets by developing new business opportunities, supporting account management activities, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Sales team, the Sales Executive contributes to achieving revenue targets through proactive sales activities, lead generation, client engagement, and market research. The role focuses on supporting the acquisition, retention, and growth of corporate, leisure, and MICE accounts while ensuring alignment with the hotel's luxury positioning and service standards.
This position is ideal for an early-career sales professional looking to develop expertise in luxury hospitality sales and international market management
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Sales Activities
- Support the execution of sales strategies for the Italian and European markets.
- Identify and prospect potential corporate, leisure, and MICE clients.
- Conduct sales calls, virtual meetings, and client follow-ups.
- Generate leads and support new business development initiatives.
- Assist in preparing sales presentations, proposals, and commercial offers.
- Maintain accurate customer information and sales activities within CRM systems.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.
- Participate in site inspections, client visits, trade shows, and networking events.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management and Marketing teams to support commercial initiatives.
- Contribute to achieving revenue and production goals established by the Sales leadership team.
- Support the implementation of promotional campaigns and sales initiatives.
Account Management
- Assist in managing a portfolio of existing accounts within Italy and Europe.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and business partners.
- Support contract renewals and commercial negotiations under the supervision of senior team members.
- Ensure timely follow-up on customer requests and opportunities.
- Coordinate with Operations and Events teams to ensure smooth execution of client requirements.
- Support customer retention activities and identify opportunities for account growth.
- Act as a day-to-day contact for assigned accounts and provide outstanding customer service.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to strengthen engagement and loyalty.
Market Development
- Research local and European market trends and demand generators.
- Identify potential new accounts and business opportunities.
- Support business development initiatives targeting priority market segments.
- Gather competitive intelligence and share relevant insights with the sales team.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with local industry associations, tourism organizations, and business partners.
Operational Excellence
- Achieve individual activity goals and support overall team revenue objectives.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with Marriott standards and brand guidelines.
- Maintain accurate reporting and pipeline management.
- Develop knowledge of luxury hospitality sales practices and Marriott commercial systems.
- Demonstrate proactive time management and organizational skills.
- Continuously develop professional sales and relationship management competencies.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support business objectives.
Required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or related field.
- Previous internship or up to 2 years of experience in Sales, Hospitality, Customer Service, Events, or related areas.
- Fluent Italian and English, both written and spoken.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Previous hospitality or luxury service experience.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales tools.
- Knowledge of an additional European language.
- Interest in corporate, leisure, and MICE market segments.
