Lab Specialist - Milan (Italy) 1-Year FTC Closing date - Thursday19th February 2026 As an Lab Specialist in the Milan Illumina Solutions Center (ISC) Laboratory you will act as both a technical and general specialist in laboratory workflows with a focus on performing laboratory based Professional Services for Illumina workflows. This is a 1-Year Fix Term Contract position to work full-time, onsite in Milan, Italy.

Technical specialist: - Illumina product specialist - Able to explain and perform Illumina product workflows within the ISC lab space for Sales Enablement activities as well as for non-customer-related internal staff and external visitors.



With a focus on professional service for customers which will include but not be limited to, preparing samples, running manual and automated library preparation, sequencing and Data QC.
- Equipment specialist - SME for multiple items of laboratory equipment including advising on usage and maintenance to other lab users. Participates in equipment management processes for calibration, servicing and associated record keeping.
- Sales Enablement specialist - participates or responsible for sales enablement activities including lab tours, instrument demonstrations and lab based professional services (e.g. processing customer samples as part of workflow design and evaluation services, customer throughput assistance and other lab-based services). General specialist: - Safety specialist
- responsible for participating in waste stream management, chemical labeling, and risk assessment creation and implementation in multiple lab spaces.
- Procurement and stock specialist - participates in reagent and consumable purchasing and is responsible for working with stock maintenance in the ISC Lab, monitoring changes, leading set-up and modification improvements, and liaising with users for optimization.
- CSU specialist
- participates in CSU program initiatives (defrost/Kaizen events, Temperature monitoring, and ownership)
- Operational Excellence specialist
- participates in operational improvements in ISC Lab.
- Communication specialist - participates in communicating initiatives and progress, receiving requests (BriefingSource), and liaising with Lab Supervisor/Request owner to coordinate lab activities. Preferred Requirements: - Molecular Biology laboratory experience required with NGS knowledge being preferred but not essential
- Detail-oriented and conscientious.
