This is your chance to shape how our trips run across Italy - from the people who lead them to the experience our travellers have on the ground. If you care about quality, love developing teams, and want to have a real impact, this could be the role for you.
We are looking for an Operations Manager, Italy to join our team in Rome on a full-time, permanent basis.
We work in a 3-2-1 hybrid model, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, including at least 1 office day on a Monday or Friday.
In this role, you'll oversee the performance of our trips across Italy, lead and develop our group leaders and guides, and make sure everything runs safely, smoothly and to the high standards we expect. You'll work closely with teams across Europe and globally, balancing day-to-day delivery with continuous improvement.
You'll also be part of the local Management Group, contributing to the direction of the Italy DMC and how we grow while maintaining quality.
This role would suit someone with strong operational leadership experience in travel - someone who understands what great looks like on the ground and is happy getting into the detail when needed. You'll enjoy a fast-moving, collaborative environment and be motivated by building high-performing teams and delivering great traveller experiences.
Some of the experience you'll bring with you may include:
Proven operational management experience, ideally leading multi-location teams in a travel or service-led environment
Strong understanding of European travel operations and what drives quality on the ground
Solid experience within the travel industry or as a group leader/guide - Previous experience as a tour leader is a plus
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop a large, dispersed workforce
Confidence owning operational performance, including budgets, KPIs and delivery
Fluency in both Italian and English
Experience embedding, managing and improving operational processes at scale
Pay Transparency
In line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, we are committed to fair, equitable and transparent pay practices. We do not ask candidates about their current or previous remuneration. Compensation is determined based on objective criteria, including the requirements of the role, relevant skills, experience and market benchmarks.
The approved salary for this position is €41,400 EUR gross per annum.
