/p pThe Finance Division (CSF)
recommends and administers financial policies and procedures that meet the highest professional standards; keeps accounts that accurately record financial activities and meet the requirements of internal and external audits; prepares reports to accurately portray the financial status of the Organization and its activities; ensures that the Organization's financial resources are securely kept and productively employed while in FAO's custody; oversees financial operations wherever performed in the Organization; and ensures that all disbursements are timely and made in accordance with established policies and procedures.
/p pThe position is located in the Finance Division (CSF) at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy.
/p h3Reporting Lines /h3 pThe Young Professional Officer (Finance) reports to a Senior Finance Officer in CSF.
/p h3Technical Focus /h3 pSupports financial oversight, reporting and analysis within the Finance Division.
/p h3Key Results /h3 pResearch, technical analysis and project related services to support the delivery of assigned projects, products and services.
/p h3Key Functions /h3 ul liAnalyses relevant technical social, economic, environmental, and technology information, data and/or statistics for input in various documents.
/li liMaintains records and updates databases and web pages.
/li liProvides technical support to various projects.
/li liCollaborates in the development of training tools and materials and the organization of workshops/seminars, etc.
/li liParticipates in the organization and follow-up of meetings, consultations and conferences, the production of required materials and the provision of information and assistance to partners.
/li /ul h3Specific Functions /h3 ul liCollects, reviews for accuracy and analyzes financial information and/or internal financial controls to support the delivery of various financial services/activities.
/li liAnalyses financial and/or investment data to support financial decisions.
/li liParticipates in the development of improved work methods and procedures.
/li liParticipates in special project/work teams.
/li /ul h3CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING /h3 h3Minimum Requirements /h3 ul liAdvanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in finance, business, or related field,
or a first degree in similar areas coupled with a professional qualification linked to risk management or investments (CPA, CA, FRM, CFA etc.).
/li liOne year of relevant experience in accounting, finance, investments or related field.
/li liWorking knowledge (proficiency - level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (intermediate proficiency - level B) of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
/li /ul h3Technical/Functional Skills /h3 ul liWork experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirable.
/li liExtent and relevance in finance, accounting or investments.
/li /ul pNB Please note that candidates should be 32 years of age or younger as of 31 December of the year of application.
