The opportunity
TheHigh Voltage ProductsBusiness Unit is part of Hitachi Energy's global Technology organization, responsible for the development, optimization, and lifecycle management of products such asMetal-Enclosed Circuit Breakers, Hybrid Switchgear, and Instrument Transformers.
As R&D; Engineer, you will join the Technology Center Italy, based in Lodi, and report to the R&D; Team Manager.
In this role, you will focus on supportingHigh Voltage Switchgear (GIS, AIS, Hybrid)across the product lifecycle, ensuring product data integrity, continuous improvement, and effective technical support to global stakeholders.
How you'll make an impact
Ensureproduct data quality and consistencyacross PLM systems throughout the product lifecycle
Manage and implementengineering changesto improve product quality, reliability, and cost efficiency
Drivecontinuous improvement initiativesbased on feedback from production and field performance
Providetechnical supportto Operations, Service, Sales, and R&D; across the global organization
Contribute todesign reviews, bringing structured feedback from factories and customer sites
Performengineering calculations and simulationsto support design validation and product improvements
Support the resolution ofproduct issues, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions
Maintain and updatetechnical documentation and product configurationsin all relevant systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and build a strongglobal network
Your background
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar)
Experience withCAD tools(preferably PTC Creo) andPLM systems(preferably Windchill)




Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and proactive approach
Ability to work incross-functional and international environments
Experience in theelectro-mechanical or power industryis a plus
Knowledge of engineering calculations and simulation tools(e.g., FEM, multiphysics) is a plus
Fluency in English; Italian is a strong plus
