As part of its continued growth, the business is preparing to open a new school in Rome and is looking to appoint an Finance Manager/ Finance Assistant to support the Director of Finance Operations during the pre-opening phase and beyond.
/p pThis is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to join a growing education business at an important stage of its development.
The successful candidate will play a hands?on role in establishing robust financial and administrative processes, supporting the opening of the school and helping to build the systems that will underpin its long?term operations.
/p h3The Role /h3 pReporting to the Director of Finance Operations, the Assistant Bursar will provide broad financial administration and operational support across the school.
/p pThe role will suit someone who is highly organised, numerate and detail?oriented, with the confidence to work independently and the flexibility to take ownership of a wide range of responsibilities in a developing organisation.
/p h3Key responsibilities /h3 pbFinancial administration /b /p ul liProcess supplier invoices, staff expenses and purchasing documentation.
/li liMaintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
/li liAssist with monthly bank reconciliations.
/li liMaintain accurate financial records and documentation.
/li liPrepare financial information for management review, audits and compliance.
/li liManage daily cash receipts, banking and petty cash.
/li /ul pbBudgeting reporting /b /p ul liSupport monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
/li liAssist with annual budget preparation and ongoing budget monitoring.
/li liIdentify and report variances and support the DFO with financial analysis.
/li /ul pbProcurement purchasing /b /p ul liManage purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
/li liMaintain supplier records and support supplier vetting.
/li liObtain and review quotations and assist with contracts and procurement processes.
/li liEnsure purchasing activity complies with internal procedures.
/li /ul pbStudent billing credit control /b /p ul liManage student billing, fee statements, payment plans and refunds.
/li liMaintain accurate tuition receivables and payment records.
/li liTrack deposits and allocate payments correctly.
/li liMonitor outstanding balances and support credit control activity.
/li liMaintain confidential student and financial information.
/li /ul pbCompliance, systems process improvement /b /p ul liMaintain organised financial filing and documentation systems.
/li liSupport compliance with internal policies, audit requirements and Spanish legislation.
/li liAssist with implementing audit recommendations.
/li liSupport data protection requirements relating to financial administration.
/li liContribute to the development and improvement of financial and administrative systems, processes and reporting.
/li liProvide technical, data and process support where required.
/li /ul pbPre-opening operational support /b /p ul liHelp establish financial and administrative procedures ahead of the school's opening.
/li liSupport the DFO with wider administrative and operational activities.
/li liAssist during audits, inspections and accreditation processes.
/li liProvide flexible support across the wider school operation when required.
/li /ul h3About You /h3 pWe are looking for an experienced finance administrator or accounting professional who enjoys working in a varied, hands?on role and is comfortable operating in a growing environment.
/p pYou will ideally have: /p ul liA bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
/li liAt least 3 years' experience in finance administration, accounting or business support.
/li liExperience in a school, education or similarly complex service environment would be advantageous.
/li liStrong numerical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
/li liExperience with billing, accounts receivable and credit control.
/li liFamiliarity with Spanish invoicing, taxation and financial processes.
/li liExperience using finance systems, CRM platforms and Microsoft Excel.
/li liStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
/li liExcellent written and verbal English and Spanish.
/li liAn interest in data, systems and process improvement.
/li liThe ability to write SQL or learn basic scripting would be advantageous.
/li liA high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
