The hotel will feature 108 elegantly designed rooms and suites, many with private terraces or gardens, crafted by renowned designers Gilles Boissier. With six distinctive restaurants and bars, including a rooftop Mandarin Bar with sweeping city views, the property will blend tranquil residential charm with contemporary Roman sophistication. /p h3About the job /h3 pThe bPurchasing Manager /b is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day procurement activities of the hotel, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services while maintaining Mandarin Oriental quality standards. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role plays an important part in supporting the operational and financial success of Mandarin Oriental, Rome through effective supplier management, inventory control and purchasing best practices. /p h3As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties: /h3 ul liManage the day-to-day purchasing activities of the hotel, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. /li liSource goods and services in accordance with operational requirements,



quality standards and approved budgets. /li liDevelop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure service excellence, competitive pricing and reliable delivery. /li liObtain competitive quotations and support contract negotiations to maximise value and cost effectiveness. /li liMonitor supplier performance and work proactively to identify opportunities for service improvements and cost savings. /li liOversee inventory and stock control processes, maintaining appropriate stock levels while minimising waste and loss. /li liEnsure all purchasing documentation, records and approvals are completed accurately and in line with internal control requirements. /li liCollaborate closely with Restaurants, Bars Experience, Rooms Division, Engineering and Finance teams to support daily operational needs. /li liSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of purchasing systems, procedures and controls. /liliMonitor procurement expenditure and prepare regular reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance and cost-saving initiatives. /li liSupervise and develop members of the Purchasing team, providing guidance, training and support to ensure high performance. /li liPromote sustainable and responsible sourcing practices in line with Mandarin Oriental's environmental and social commitments. /li liContribute to the successful opening and ongoing operation of one of Rome's most anticipated luxury hospitality destinations. /li /ul h3As Purchasing Manager, we expect from you: /h3 ul liA minimum of 4-5 years of experience in purchasing,



procurement or supply chain management within luxury hospitality or a related industry. /li liPrevious experience in a purchasing supervisory or management position within a hotel environment. /li liStrong commercial awareness with experience in supplier management, cost control, purchasing processes and contract administration. /li liDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. /li liExcellent negotiation, organisational and relationship-building skills. /li liStrong analytical skills with the ability to review purchasing data, identify trends and support informed decision-making. /li liExperience working with procurement systems, inventory management and hotel purchasing procedures. /li liProven ability to supervise, coach and develop colleagues while fostering a collaborative team environment. /li liExcellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across departments. /li liStrong command of written and spoken English and Italian. /li liHigh levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail. /li /ul h3Our commitment to you: /h3 ul libLearning Development. /b Your success is our success.
