ppReporting directly to the Director of Finance, the bCost Controller /b will play a key role within the Finance team, supporting the hotel in maintaining effective cost control, accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal procedures and Corinthia standards. /ppThe role will focus particularly on Food Beverage cost control, while also monitoring operational costs across the property. The Cost Controller will work closely with the Finance team and Heads of Department, particularly FB, Kitchen, Purchasing and Operations, to monitor costs, analyse variances and support the hotel in achieving its financial objectives. /ppThis is a hands-on, operational role, requiring strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and the ability to work independently within established procedures and deadlines. /ph3Position Purpose /h3pTo ensure accurate and effective monitoring of hotel costs, inventories, purchasing and consumption, providing timely and reliable analysis to support the Director of Finance and operational teams in maintaining budget discipline and improving cost efficiency. /ppThe role is particularly focused on ensuring that actual costs are accurately captured, variances are identified and investigated, and financial controls are consistently applied. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliMonitor and control operational costs across the hotel, with a particular focus on Food Beverage. /liliCheck figures, postings and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. /liliPerform daily checks of FB sales, covers, food portions, consumption and cost reports. /liliAnalyse consumption and purchasing patterns and identify significant variances. /liliMonitor Food Beverage cost percentages against budget and agreed standards. /liliConduct and support regular physical inventories and ensure accurate stock reconciliation. /liliAnalyse theoretical versus actual consumption and investigate discrepancies. /liliReview and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, receiving records and supplier documentation. /liliMonitor purchasing prices and identify significant price variations. /liliMonitor wastage, complimentary items, staff meals and other non-revenue consumption. /liliEnsure that inventory movements, transfers and consumption are accurately recorded in the relevant systems. /liliSupport the preparation of monthly cost reports, variance analysis and management information.



/liliAssist with month-end closing activities relating to inventory and cost of sales. /liliMonitor budget performance and highlight relevant deviations to the Director of Finance. /liliIdentify opportunities for cost optimisation, waste reduction and process improvement. /liliEnsure compliance with Finance procedures, internal controls and Corinthia Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). /liliMaintain accurate and well‑organised financial records and supporting documentation. /liliCoordinate cost‑control activities with the relevant departments and ensure deadlines are consistently met. /liliSupport internal and external audit activities and provide the required documentation and information. /liliWork closely with the Finance, FB, Kitchen, Purchasing and Operations teams to promote effective cost‑control practices. /liliSupport the Finance team in achieving departmental objectives and the hotel's overall business goals. /li /ulh3Requirements /h3ulliDegree or diploma in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management or a related discipline is preferred. /liliMinimum 2 years' experience in Cost Control. /liliPrevious experience in hotel accounting or financial control, with a strong understanding of hotel operations. /liliSolid knowledge of Food Beverage cost control, inventory and procurement processes. /liliGood understanding of Point of Sale and hotel management systems. /liliExperience with SunSystems, Simphony, Adaco and Opera Cloud will be considered a strong advantage. /liliExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong numerical skills. /liliFluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken. /liliPrevious experience in a luxury 5-star hotel environment is highly desirable. /liliHigh ability to interpret and report financial information and high confidentiality /li /ulpWe are looking for a professional who demonstrates: /pulliHigh attention to detail and accuracy, with a structured and methodical approach. /liliStrong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and identify relevant trends and discrepancies.
