Operating across Ireland, the UK, Europe and South Africa, Kirby has become the engineering service provider of choice in growth segments such as pharmaceuticals, data centres and power transmission and distribution. Our culture is innovative, collaborative and performance focused. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a company committed to developing talent and rewarding performance. /p h3Site Logistics Supervisor - Milan Data Centre Project /h3 pSome construction roles are vague. This isn't one of them. /p pIf you like keeping chaos at bay, knowing exactly where everything is going, and making sure 50 different subcontractors don't all try to deliver at 9:00am on Tuesday "because that's when they always deliver" - keep reading. /p pWe're building a major data centre in Milan. Big project, tight footprint, lots of moving parts. We need a Site Logistics Manager who can keep the whole thing flowing without the place turning into a car park with cranes. /p pThis isn't just about organising storage space (though you'll do plenty of that).
It's about being the nerve centre of site movement - materials, deliveries, vertical transport, access, security, the whole lot. If you enjoy orchestrating a site so well that people think you've got psychic powers, you'll fit right in. /p h3What You'll Actually Be Doing /h3 p(Not the fluffy version - the real version.) /p ul liMapping, defining, and controlling all on-site and near-site storage areas. /li liDeciding who gets what storage space, based on project priorities - not who shouts the loudest. /li liRunning the web-based delivery booking system like a small but efficient airport. /li liMaking sure deliveries only happen when there's somewhere to put the stuff. /li liWorking closely with subcontractors and security so deliveries arrive when they should, not when they feel like it. /li liCreating and enforcing a call-off system that keeps everything flowing and doesn't block access routes. /li liKeeping track of vertical transportation plant capacity so cranes and hoists don't sit idle while materials sit in the wrong place. /li liHelping run the weekly delivery coordination meeting - and owning every action item that comes out of it. /li liActing as the link between security at the perimeter and the controlled chaos inside the hoarding line. /li liCoordinating with the Appointed Person/Crane Coordinator to keep lifts smooth and efficient. /li liHandling accommodation and vehicle requirements for site employees - leases, trackers, troubleshooting, the works. /li /ul pIn short: You'll be the person who knows what's coming,
when it's coming, how it's getting in, where it's going, who's moving it, and what happens next. /p h3What You'll Need To Bring /h3 ul liExperience managing logistics on a live construction site (data centre experience a bonus). /li liA tolerance for complexity - and an intolerance for disorganisation. /li liStrong communication skills (some might call this "telling people no" politely). /li liThe ability to think three steps ahead because everything on this site affects everything else. /li liA mindset that treats logistics as the circulatory system of a project - not an afterthought. /li /ul h3What You'll Get /h3 ul liThe chance to run logistics for a flagship hyperscale data centre in one of Europe's most dynamic tech hubs. /li liA team that actually understands why logistics matters. /li liA project leadership group that wants someone who runs a system, not someone who waits for instructions. /li liAnd yes, competitive salary, accommodation support, and the usual big-project benefits. /li /ul h3If This Sounds Like You... /h3 pWe don't need a 5-page cover letter. Just enough to show you know how modern construction logistics works and that you're the kind of person subcontractors won't want to cross. /p pFor more information on this role, or other Construction / Engineering opportunities across Ireland, the UK, Europe, or South Africa please review our careers page (Vacancies - Kirby Group Careers) or contact the Talent Acquisition Team at Kirby Group in confidence on +353 (0) . /p pKirby Group Engineering is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or age. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
