The project involves providing water supply from three sources for the purpose of treatment and injection to support production forecasts through ****.
The facility will process 1,400MBCD of water for injection to maintain the field's Maximum Sustainable Capability.
Additionally, there will be expansion of water facilities to accommodate surplus produced water.
Job Purpose
The Mechanical Specialist will be responsible for reviewing vendor technical evaluations and deviation lists from company standards for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, and gas turbines.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Review rotating equipment datasheets and supporting documentation.
Participate in technical clarification meetings with vendors.
Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
Develop project specifications with colleagues from various engineering disciplines.
Develop, test, and evaluate theoretical designs.
Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers.
Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques.
Plan and design new production processes.
Produce details of specifications and outline designs.
Recommend modifications following prototype test results.
Apply research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, including mathematical modeling and computer-aided design.
Consider cost, safety, and time constraint implications.
Monitor and commission plant and systems.
Requirements
Educational & Technical Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
***** years of experience in oil and gas or petrochemical projects
Good working knowledge of industry standards and procedures and international standards
Proficient in English, both written and verbal
Advanced computer skills with MS-Office
With minimum 20 or more years of experience in:
Leading pipeline discipline from detailed engineering to commissioning
Developing technical and purchase specifications, datasheets, and method statements
Developing non-metallic material specifications, datasheets, and procedures
Generating drawings including route maps and alignment sheets using GIS data and survey maps
Designing and engineering pipeline right-of-way, trenching, trenchless crossing, HDD using geotech surveys
Performing technical assessment, qualification, and periodic audits of vendor facilities
Leading or participating in specialized incident investigation and failure analysis of pipelines
Experience from design to construction of non-metallic pipeline systems
Assessing technical, cost, and schedule impacts of engineering and field modification requests
Performing Management of Change (MOC) and construction risk management
Deep knowledge of API 5L pipe requirements
Engineering and executing pipeline internal liners such as HDPE or PE-RT
Analytical lifecycle management and regulatory compliance
Conducting calculations for wall thickness, hydrodynamic stability, expansion loop layout, and thermal buckling using finite element analysis (FEA) software
Flow assurance, modeling multiphase thermodynamic mixed fluids
Comprehensive knowledge of ILI tools and Cathodic Protection systems
Comprehensive knowledge of API 6A and API 6D valves
Performing stress analysis and surge analysis for pipeline and piping
Working knowledge of piping layout design and piping engineering, including piping material specification development
Reviewing piping engineering and vendor package design for standards compliance
Experience with industry standards, practices and procedures
Strong knowledge of ASME B31.4, ASME B31.3, API-579
Active affiliation with professional societies such as IMechE, ASME, API, ISO is highly desirable
