Within GOSP - Generali Operations Service Platform, within the unit Mainframe Operation, we are looking for an experienced Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our Infrastructure team and ensure the stability, availability, performance, and security of our IBM Z environment

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

- Install, customize, maintain, and upgrade IBM z/OS operating systems.
- Perform system software installation, maintenance, and SMP/E software management.
- Install, configure, and support IBM and ISV software products.
- Manage system IPLs, maintenance windows, and planned infrastructure changes.
- Monitor system performance and capacity, identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Analyze and resolve complex system problems and production incidents.
- Implement IBM maintenance, PTFs, APARs, and software upgrades.
- Support disaster recovery testing and business continuity initiatives.
- Maintain system security in collaboration with RACF administrators.
- Support automation and scheduling solutions.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Work with vendors (IBM and third-party suppliers) to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in on-call support and major incident management.

Requirements

- Strong technical expertise in IBM zSystems and z/OS systems programming.
- Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting z/OS operating systems and core IBM software products.
- Hands-on knowledge of SMP/E software management, IBM maintenance, PTFs, APARs, and software upgrades.
- Experience with IBM and ISV software products in mission-critical production environments.
- Solid understanding of system IPLs, maintenance windows, planned infrastructure changes, performance monitoring, and capacity optimization.




- Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to analyze and resolve complex system problems and production incidents.
- Experience supporting high-availability environments, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity initiatives.
- Good understanding of mainframe security concepts and collaboration with RACF administrators.
- Experience with automation and scheduling solutions is desirable.
- Ability to produce and maintain clear technical documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with infrastructure, application, operations teams, IBM, and third-party suppliers.
- Willingness to participate in on-call support and major incident management.
- Fluent written and spoken English.

WHAT WE OFFER

We offer employment at the V level with the relevant salary, in accordance with the CCNL ANIA for non-executive employees and the Generali Group Company Agreement.

Gross annual salary ranging between 40K€ and 50K€. The final offer will be aligned with the candidate’s professional experience, technical and soft skills relevant to the role, and may include an individual variable component.
