We partner with leading architects, designers, and craftspeople to deliver highly complex, multi-material environments where precision, coordination, and craftsmanship are paramount. **Role Mission** The Head of Technical Department is the senior technical authority and operational leader responsible for building and leading Davani’s technical organization in Italy. In addition to department leadership, this role directly manages a select portfolio of Davani’s most complex, high-value projects, acting as both technical director and senior project lead. **Key Outcomes (First 18-36 Months)**
- Build and lead a high-performance technical department capable of delivering
- multiple €5-20M+ bespoke projects in parallel
- Personally lead 2-4 of Davani’s most complex, high-risk or flagship projects
- Establish and maintain a trusted, priority supplier network across millwork, stone,
- metal, and specialty trades
- Implement repeatable technical, QA/QC, and coordination standards across all
- projects
- Reduce fabrication errors, site issues, and rework through superior upstream
- technical control
- Elevate Project Managers through mentorship, governance, and technical
- leadership **Core Responsibilities** **I. Department Leadership & Technical Governance**
- Define the technical vision, standards, and operating structure of the Technical
- Department
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor technical project managers, engineers, and
- specialists
- Establish clear roles,



responsibilities, and decision authority within the department
- Act as final escalation point for complex technical issues, interfaces, and disputes
- Set technical priorities across all active projects and allocate resources accordingly **II. Direct Project Leadership (Senior Project Manager Responsibility)**
- Personally manage a portfolio of Davani’s most complex and high-value projects
- (€2-10M+ each), from early design coordination through fabrication, logistics,
- installation, and final handover
- Own the full project life cycle for assigned projects, acting as the central control
- point for design, engineering, factories, installers, and clients
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering design milestones, shop
- drawings, fabrication, shipping, and installation phases
- Lead weekly coordination meetings with internal teams, Italian factories, installers,
- architects, and general contractors
- Manage project budgets, track variations and change orders, and support
- commercial decisions with clear technical and financial data
- Serve as primary senior technical contact for clients, architects, and general
- contractors on assigned projects **III. Technical & Design Oversight**
- Review and approve architectural drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication
- packages for millwork, stone, metal, and multi-material interfaces
- Ensure constructability, tolerance management,



and alignment with design intent
- Coordinate resolution of complex details including anchoring systems, structural
- interfaces, waterproofing, and MEP coordination
- Validate mock-ups, samples, finishes, and prototypes prior to fabrication release
- Ensure technical decisions are documented, approved, and communicated clearly
- across all stakeholders **IV. Supplier Strategy & Relationship Management**
- Identify, qualify, onboard, and continuously evaluate manufacturers and specialty
- suppliers
- Negotiate pricing structures, production capacity, delivery priorities, and quality
- standards
- Maintain senior-level relationships with owners and directors of key suppliers
- Ensure Davani projects receive priority scheduling, senior technical attention, and
- rapid problem resolution
- Balance cost control with uncompromising ultra-luxury quality expectations **V. Installation & Site Execution**
- Define installation strategies, sequencing, and quality benchmarks
- Coordinate installation planning with Italian and local installation teams
- Travel to job sites during critical installation phases for supervision and
- decision-making
- Ensure installations strictly follow approved drawings and Davani quality standards
- Lead punch-list resolution, final inspections, and client sign-off with a white-glove

- Implement technical templates, checklists, QA/QC procedures, and reporting
