If you answered yes to these three questions, we may have an opportunity for you! /p pbJob Title /b : Operations Coordinator (Loads Facility – Tuscany Hub)br/bLocation /b : San Giovanni Valdarno, Tuscany, Italy (with travel across major Italian regions and occasional trips to European hubs ≈ 5–7 weeks/year)br/bReports /b To: Operations Lead, Italy /p pbJob Overview /bbr/As a full-time Operations Coordinator at Backroads' Tuscany Hub, you are responsible for coordinating ground warehouse operations and execution of the hub's yearly operational cycle. /p pActing as the bridge between planning and execution, you ensure that equipment, spaces, and workflows are always organized, functional, and ready to support field operations. /p pThis role plays a central part in ensuring that the hub operates efficiently across both Unit Loads (season start) and End-of-Season Maintenance – EOSM (season end). /p pYou'll also play a key role in fostering cross-hub collaboration—especially with our French and Czech load team to align on shared inventory and transport logistics. If you thrive on solving operational puzzles, have a hands‐on approach, love active travel culture, and enjoy working in a collaborative international environment, we'd love to meet you. /p pbKey Responsibilities /bbr/Warehouse Inventory Management /p ulliMaintain a clean, safe, and well‐organized warehouse /liliManage inventory, storage systems, and equipment tracking /liliReceive and dispatch materials and packages /liliEnsure clear storage standards and efficient material flow /liliContinuously improve warehouse layout, organization, and accessibility /liliEnsure all equipment is correctly staged and ready for operations /li /ul pbUnit Load EOSM Execution /bbr/This role is central to both phases of the operational cycle:
/p pUnit Loads (Season Start) /p ulliPrepare and stage equipment based on Unit Load plans /liliSupport loading operations and ensure execution aligns with planning /liliAssist Field Staff during load days /liliEnsure clarity, completeness, and efficiency during loading /li /ul pEnd-of-Season Maintenance (EOSM) /p ulliCoordinate return and unloading of all equipment (vans, bikes, unit inventory) /liliEnsure proper inventory, organization, and tracking of all returned materials /liliSupport maintenance processes (cleaning, repair, reallocation) /liliReset warehouse and operational environment for the following season /li /ul pbFacility Coordination Maintenance /b /p ulliEnsure daily functionality of all hub spaces /liliMaintain clean, safe, and functional work environments /liliPerform hands‐on fixes and small repairs using basic tools /liliIdentify opportunities to improve facility usability and efficiency /liliCoordinate small-scale facility improvements and external contractors /li /ul pbTeam Leadership /b /p ulliAssist to Lead and to coordinate Seasonal Operations Coordinators or staff on temporary assignments /liliProvide structure, guidance, and support to seasonal staff /liliEnsure consistency and quality of execution across operations /liliPromote a collaborative and structured working environment /li /ul pbCollaboration Communication /bbr/Work closely with: /p ulliOperations Lead – Unit Load planning /liliFleet Coordinator – vehicle readiness availability /liliSupport clear execution of Unit Load assignments /liliAct as a point of contact for Field Staff during load operations /liliCollaborate with European hubs on planning,
inventory and logistics alignment /li /ul pbTravel Flexibility /b /p ulliProvide on‐site operations support in Italy or other European hubs during peak periods (≈ 5–7 weeks/year) /li /ul pbQualifications /b /p ulliOperations Experience: 2+ years in warehouse, logistics, facility, or operational roles /liliHands‐On Approach: Comfortable with physical work and basic repairs /liliProblem Solving: Practical, proactive, and solution‐oriented /liliOrganization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities /liliDriving Skills: Valid driver's license and confidence driving vans and trailers /liliTechnical Skills: Comfortable with Excel and operational tools /liliCommunication: Fluent English and Italian /liliPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs /li /ul h3bAbout Backroads: /b /h3 pAt Backroads we're passionate about connecting our guests with so many of the most beautiful places in the world.
