Role Overview
We are looking for a Junior AI Specialist to support the development of data analysis and Artificial Intelligence tools across several thematic areas addressed by Artys.
The selected candidate will work alongside senior researchers and engineers on projects involving environmental and meteorological data analysis, Earth Observation products, agriculture monitoring, and Intelligent Transport Systems.
The role focuses on applying AI and data analysis techniques to heterogeneous datasets from satellite observations, sensor networks, and other data sources, contributing to the development of innovative services for operational decision support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the analysis and integration of heterogeneous datasets, including time series, geospatial datasets and images.
- Contribute to the development and testing of machine learning models for data analysis and predictive analytics.
- Assist in data preprocessing, exploration, and visualization to support the development of data-driven services.
- Collaborate with senior team members in the design and development of tools and services for environmental and meteorological monitoring, including applications based on Earth Observation data.
- Contribute to the development and experimentation of AI-based solutions supporting operational applications such as agriculture monitoring and mobility management systems.
- Participate in research and innovation projects involving machine learning applications.
Required Qualifications
- BSc or MSc degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines) with coursework or experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or data analysis.
- Consolidated knowledge of common Python data analysis libraries.
- Experience with machine learning tools and at least one of the following Python libraries:
- Scikit-learn
- TensorFlow
- PyTorch
- Experience in statistical and data analysis, data visualisation and interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Earth Observation, environmental data, or geospatial datasets.
- Practical knowledge of version control systems (preferred Git) and collaborative development platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
- Familiarity with the Visual Studio Code environment for Python development.
- Experience in data exploration and visualization using libraries commonly adopted in data science workflows (e.g. Seaborn).
- Curiosity, a problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn.

Position Details
Full-time position based in Genoa (Italy).
Lavoro da remoto options and compensation will be defined according to the candidate’s experience and skills.
