The Team

Working as part of a dedicated nursing and midwifery education for Hospitals South, this role will hold a partner portfolio with Surgical Services. The nursing and midwifery education team partner with staff across the organisation to deliver education programs, support professional growth, and strengthen workforce capability.

The Role

The Clinical Nurse Educator plays a pivotal role in strengthening nursing capability through the design, delivery and evaluation of contemporary education programs that support safe, high-quality patient care. Working within a practice development framework, this position provides expert clinical and educational leadership to advance evidence-based practice, professional development and workforce capability across nursing services. The role collaborates with nursing, midwifery and multidisciplinary teams to foster a positive learning culture, support professional growth, and contribute to organisational priorities and clinical excellence.

About the successful candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for education, professional development and improving clinical practice outcomes.

Key skills needed:

- Demonstrated expertise in developing, facilitating and evaluating nursing education programs that support workforce capability and evidence-based practice.
- Strong clinical knowledge and leadership skills, with the ability to translate theory into practice and mentor nurses to achieve excellence in care.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and healthcare settings.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement through education, quality improvement initiatives, research activities and evaluation of clinical practice outcomes

Details of appointment

Fixed term tempo parziale, day worker position, working 40 hours per fortnight, until 9 January 2027. Work days: Week One - Wednesday Thursday and Friday. Week Two - Thursday and Friday.



Workdays are not negotiable.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

- Post graduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning.
