Contract Type: ContractDay Rate: 505 USDOverviewEnergy Jobline is supporting a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced Telecom Engineer to support the design and implementation of telecommunications systems across complex energy facilities.The role will contribute to the development of critical communication infrastructure required for operational coordination, plant safety, and emergency response systems.The RoleReporting to the Living Quarter Engineering Coordinator, the Telecom Engineer will support the design, specification, and integration of telecommunications systems within large-scale energy facilities.Working closely with engineering teams, vendors, and project stakeholders, the role will ensure telecom systems are designed, installed, and commissioned in line with project specifications, operational requirements, and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and support the design of telecom system architectures including voice and data networks, radio communications, and safety communication systemsAssess technical deliverables such as telecom specifications, network diagrams, and system layoutsSupport implementation of systems including IP telephony, LAN/WAN networks, Wi-Fi infrastructure, PAGA systems, CCTV, and radio communicationsCoordinate telecom interfaces with plant control systems, safety systems,



and operational infrastructureEnsure telecom designs comply with industry standards and hazardous area requirementsSupport procurement activities including preparation of technical documentation and evaluation of vendor submissionsParticipate in equipment testing and acceptance activities including factory and site testingProvide support during installation, integration, and commissioning of telecom systemsAssist operations teams with troubleshooting, configuration updates, and system documentation where requiredSkills & ExperienceStrong understanding of telecommunications systems used in industrial or energy facilitiesExperience with IP networking, fiber-optic communication systems, radio systems, CCTV, and PAGA systemsFamiliarity with telecom integration with control systems and emergency response infrastructureKnowledge of telecom standards and hazardous area requirementsExperience coordinating vendors and supporting telecom system installation and commissioningStrong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skillsQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Automation & Control Engineering or a related disciplineMinimum 10 years’ experience within telecommunications engineering for energy or industrial projectsExperience working with telecom infrastructure within large industrial or offshore environmentsExcellent written and spoken English communication skillsAdditional InformationThe advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
