You will work with people with a pioneering spirit and passion for challenges. /ppIn this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex C++ software that powers Garmin’s high-quality products to our customers. /ppstrongWhat you’ll do: /strong /pulliDevelop complex software in C++. /liliCollaborate effectively with other Garmin associates through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions. /liliPerform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems offering comments, suggestions for alternative solutions, process improvements, and estimating level of effort. /liliContinuously evaluate and improve architecture and performance to meet evolving business needs. /liliDeliver high-quality software solutions through test-driven development (TDD) practices, implementing automated testing strategies to improve reliability and efficiency. /liliWork collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals. /liliApply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion. /liliParticipate in product and/or application definition activities including feature analysis and system trade-offs. /li /ulpstrongWhat you’ll need: /strong /pulliBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
/liliStrong C++ programming and solid knowledge of latest C++ standards (C++14 and above). /liliExperience architecting complex solutions. /liliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently on complex technical challenges. /liliThorough understanding of computing using complex data structures, complex algorithms, memory management, multi-threading, design patterns and standard libraries. /liliExperience working with C++ IDEs, GIT for version control and CI/CD processes (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible). /liliStrong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in English. /liliMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and ability to work well with others across several locations worldwide in a highly collaborative environment. /liliExperience with agile SDLC methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps/JIRA/Confluence. /li /ulpstrongBonus points if you have: /strong /pulliExperience in leading technical teams. /liliKnowledge of Android and/or iOS frameworks. /liliExperience with C++ cross-compilation on different architectures. /liliBasic understanding of GIS concepts and spatial databases. /liliExperience with RESTful APIs and Service-oriented architectures.
